300 meetings specialists expected to the capital

Berlin Tourismus Marketing (BTM) is looking further to exploit the huge potential for Berlin that is slumbering in the congress and meetings market segment. In collaboration with the registered society BTM-Partnerhotels e.V. and the BTM partner agencies, a concept has therefore been drawn up for a new event focusing on meetings, congresses and incentives. Meeting Place Berlin will premiere from June 30 to July 2, 2005 in the German capital. BTM general manager Hanns Peter Nerger says the event is already meeting with a fantastic reception: 291 hosted buyers from associations, companies and agencies from thirteen countries registered to attend within a very short space of time.
Meeting Place Berlin stands first and foremost for exclusiveness. A programme awaits the hosted buyers in the capital that has been specially tailored to them. Their eventful and work packed stay is clearly arranged, with customers being divided into three groups. Each of these will attend the Meet Professionals Day, Meet Facilities Day and Meet Berlin Day on a revolving basis. Says Hanns Peter Nerger: "Every minute of their very varied stay in Berlin, the national and international participants will have the opportunity to get to know the city's many facets as a meetings and convention metropolis and to make qualified business contacts."
Already he is convinced the event will be a success: "Without a doubt Meeting Place Berlin will bring us a lot closer to our goal of significantly boosting the number of several day meetings in Berlin with more than 250 delegates."
