2005: Berlin stakes out conventions, conferences, and congresses

Berlin is the number one conference and congress destination in Germany. In dose co-operation with service providers, the municipal authorities not only want to develop this position, but also further strengthen the role played by the German capital in the international event market. In 2005, top-class customers such as companies, associations, organizations and agencies will be targeted to attract their interest in Berlin as a conference and congress metropole with the motto "Meeting Place Berlin". One ofthe highlights is a workshop taking place from June 30th to July 2nd, to which more than 250 leaders from the event sector are invited. By meeting representatives of hotels, local agencies, event locations, catering firms, restaurants, transport companies and other providers in Berlin, the qualities of the city are to convince the international event-makers.
